Online services are convenient and work well for many people. Here's what changes when your clinician is on your high street.
Online clinics
Discreet, convenient, and often a good fit for straightforward cases. The trade-offs are about distance.
Assessment by questionnaire
Decisions rest largely on a form and photos — so a lot depends on what you remember to mention.
A different clinician each time
Messages are usually answered by whoever is on shift, so your context gets rebuilt at every contact.
Self-reported progress
Weigh-ins and measurements happen at home, on your own scales, without a second pair of eyes.
Support through an inbox
Help with side effects or a wobble usually means a message queue and a wait, not a conversation.
Eastwood Health · in person
The same clinician, face to face, at every visit — with everything that follows from being in the room.
Assessment in the room
A conversation with a pharmacist who can see you, weigh you, and ask the follow-up question a form never would.
One clinician who knows you
You see the same pharmacist at every review — your history, your pace, nothing re-explained.
Progress, properly measured
Weigh-ins on the same scales every time, with measurements and trends tracked by your clinician.
Support from someone with your notes

Move the sliders to estimate your BMI. This is a starting point for the conversation, not a decision.
BMI is a rough measure. It does not account for muscle, body composition or ethnicity, and it is only ever one part of the picture.
On these numbers alone, treatment may be worth discussing. Whether it is actually appropriate depends on your medical history, your current medicines and a proper assessment with our pharmacist.
This is a guide only. It does not replace a clinical assessment and nothing is prescribed on the basis of a calculator.
Convenient, confidential care from your local pharmacy team — with appointments available for selected services.
Most people find it painless. The suction is noisy — a bit like a small vacuum next to your ear — and can feel odd for a moment, but it shouldn't be uncomfortable. Tell your clinician at any point and they'll pause.
Yes — please use Otex or a similar softener for four days before your appointment. Softened wax comes out far more easily, and skipping this step is the commonest reason an appointment needs repeating.
We'll examine both ears first. If there's nothing to remove, you pay just £10 for the check rather than the full £55, and we'll talk through what else might be causing your symptoms.
We won't proceed if you have a perforated eardrum, a current ear infection, recent ear surgery or grommets. Tell us when you book — if it isn't suitable, we'll explain why and point you towards your GP.
Usually yes — most people notice the difference immediately. If wax is very hard we may need to soften it further and see you again, and we'll always tell you honestly on the day.
